Considered a pseudo-dragon, the deadly cockatrice lives among Mediterranean pine forest and should be aproached only with great care, if at all.
Lair or Nest- Usually nests high in pine trees.
Dimensions (adult)- 3 feet long; 1 to 2 three feet high.
Appearance- Has something of the look of a Demoniacal rooster.
Forms of Attack- Fatal, poisonous breath; beak.
Food- Any living creature, apart from toads and snakes.

About the Roc

Though for long years the roc was confused with the dragon known as the Wyvern, accurate sightings now enable us to identify the creature as a seperate species, hitherto referred to in The Thousand and One Nights by Marco Polo.
Lair or Nest- Can fill a small valley.
Dimensions (adult)- 50 feet long; 18 to 2 0 feet high.
Appearance- like that of a huge eagle.
Forms of Attack- Fearsome beak, claws; dropping from great heights.
Food- Elephants, hippps, rhinos, or other large herbivores.

About the Behemoth
Behemoth
The mighty behemoth is found only in the remotes northern parts of Siberia, Canada, and Greenland and looks like an oversized mammoth.
Lair or Nest- None.
Dimensions (adult)- 90 feet long; 80 to 100 feet high.
Appearance- Like that of a huge, furry elephant.
Forms of Attack- Blasting with its terrible sneeze; gouging with horns.
Food- Forest; sucks up marshland like soup.

Of the three species of sphinx, the androsphinx is the only one with the ability to talk , and a well-developed love of riddles. Each subspecies has a winged variant.

Appearance- A leonine body with a humaniod head.
Forms of Attack- Claws, teeth.
Food- Loves human meat but will forgo it for a challenge.
About the Harpy

Unclean in their habits, harpies are scavengers that sweep down on picniking travellers, stealing their food and and dropping foul scat upon what they can't carry away. An umbrella is a must when searching out these beasts.
Lair or Nest- Crags, preferably exposed to the wind.
Dimensions (adult)- 5 feet long; 8-foot wing span.
Appearance- Scraggy birds with haglike faces.
Forms of Attack- Claws; poisonous dung dropped to render food inedible.
